During a recent official visit to China, Mr. Chheam Chansophorn, the esteemed Governor of Kampong Speu Province, announced that a remarkable 42 Chinese companies and enterprises have expressed strong interest in making significant investments within Kampong Speu in the near future. These prospective investors are keen on exploring opportunities across nine diverse economic sectors identified within the province.
The announcement followed a crucial meeting held on September 18 in Nanning City, China. During this engagement, the Kampong Speu provincial delegation effectively showcased the province’s considerable potential, its conducive investment climate, and the array of existing investment opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on the steady increase in the number of investors and enterprises already operating successfully within Kampong Speu.
Governor Chansophorn further elaborated that representatives from all 42 companies and enterprises demonstrated genuine interest in Kampong Speu’s strategic advantages and growth prospects. Encouragingly, several investors have also conveyed their intention to undertake study tours to the province, aiming to gain deeper insights and ultimately finalize their investment decisions.
The nine crucial sectors that have captured the attention of these Chinese companies and enterprises include: agriculture and agro-processing, industrial development and manufacturing, construction and building materials, tourism and culture, investment and general commerce, technology and digital advancements, mining, logistics and transportation, and the burgeoning fields of new energy and environmental solutions.
According to the provincial governor, the interested companies comprise both existing investors already operating in Cambodia who are looking to expand their operations, as well as new investors planning to establish factories and enterprises in Kampong Speu. To facilitate this influx of investment, the Kampong Speu provincial administration has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to cultivating an even more favorable investment environment and warmly welcoming all prospective investors.
Currently, Kampong Speu Province is home to nearly 3,000 factories and enterprises, which collectively provide employment to over 400,000 workers. This continuous growth in industrial and enterprise activity plays a vital role in absorbing the labor force from surrounding provinces and significantly boosts the region’s overall economic dynamism.
