Angkor Product Fair 2025: Siem Reap Set to Boost Local Trade and Showcase Cambodian Excellence

The city of Siem Reap is gearing up to host the highly anticipated “Angkor Product Fair 2025,” an annual exhibition designed to significantly boost local trade and widely promote Cambodian domestic products. Scheduled to run for three days, from December 5th to 7th, the fair will transform the garden yard in front of the Victoria Hotel into a vibrant marketplace and cultural hub.

Phoeun Kimly, Director of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Commerce, recently affirmed the importance of this event. Speaking on November 29th, Kimly stated that the fair is a crucial activity within the department’s annual work plan, directly aligning with the strategic directions set by the Ministry. Its primary objective is to actively encourage the consumption and appreciation of domestically produced goods.

The exhibition promises a diverse array of Cambodian craftsmanship and produce. Attendees can expect to discover a wide selection of local fruit and vegetable products, alongside beautifully crafted processed goods. This includes intricate weaving and detailed sculptures, primarily originating from Siem Reap province, with additional unique items brought in from other Cambodian provinces.

Beyond the extensive product showcase, the Angkor Product Fair 2025 will feature a dynamic program of activities aimed at enhancing visitor engagement and producer development. Highlights include a captivating cooking contest organized by the Cambodian Chefs Association, providing a platform to celebrate and promote Khmer culinary arts. Business meetings will facilitate networking and potential collaborations among producers and buyers, while cultural performances, such as traditional drumming and artistic demonstrations, will entertain and educate both national and international tourists, offering deeper insights into Cambodian heritage.

These initiatives are strategically designed to not only introduce tourists to the richness of Cambodian products but also to motivate local producers. The goal is to inspire them to continuously improve the quality and variety of their goods, aligning with national policies and the first phase of the Pentagon strategy. This broader vision focuses on promoting agribusiness, enhancing domestic production capabilities, and fostering robust private sector development across Cambodia.

The Angkor Product Fair 2025 is a collaborative effort, co-organized by the Siem Reap Provincial Administration in partnership with several key organizations, including Agrisud International, Gret, and the Cambodian Chefs Association. With approximately 100 booths planned, the fair will offer a comprehensive display of goods, ranging from fresh vegetables and fruits to various beverages, groceries, and a multitude of other processed products, making it a must-visit event for anyone interested in Cambodian produce and culture.
