PM Hun Manet Urges National Support for Khmer Products to Drive Economic Growth and Innovation

Phnom Penh, Cambodia – On April 9, the Kingdom of Cambodia marked its annual National Day for the Promotion of the Use of Khmer Products, an initiative now in its ninth year. The day was observed under the inspiring theme, “Khmer Produces Khmer, Uses Khmer Progress,” aiming to significantly broaden and invigorate the utilization of domestically manufactured goods across the nation.

In a powerful address during the celebrations, Prime Minister Hun Manet called upon all Cambodian citizens to continue their unwavering support for local products. He emphasized the critical importance of selecting and confidently purchasing goods made in Cambodia, highlighting that their quality and pricing are competitive. According to the Prime Minister, the collective decision of citizens to prioritize Khmer products serves as a fundamental pillar in constructing a robust national economy capable of withstanding various challenges and fostering resilience.

Prime Minister Hun Manet conveyed his vision through a message posted on social media, reiterating the core principle: “We strive to produce, we help use, our nation will grow!” He used this platform to encourage all Cambodian producers to intensify their efforts in innovation, continuously enhance product quality, and develop new offerings. This strategic focus, he noted, is essential to effectively meet the evolving demands of both domestic and international markets.

The Prime Minister also specifically addressed the youth of Cambodia, urging them to embrace the roles of innovators and become leaders who will shape the modern economy. Furthermore, he called upon all relevant ministries, governmental institutions, development partners, and the private sector to foster greater cooperation. This collaborative effort, he stressed, should specifically support the National Committee responsible for promoting the ‘One Village, One Product’ movement.

Elaborating on the benefits of such collaboration, Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that it is crucial for empowering Cambodian producers. The goal is to assist them in developing products that boast higher quality, enhanced aesthetic appeal, and competitive, reasonable prices. This comprehensive approach is designed to cultivate greater consumer confidence and unlock the full business potential of Cambodian products, ensuring their success in both national and international markets.
